Greg Johnson; General Manager of Marketing

How long have you been with Jebro?
I have been employed by Jebro since December 8, 2003.

What are your specific job duties within the company?
I am the General Manager of Marketing. I oversee all asphalt sales in Sioux City, Iowa.

What did you do before Jebro?
I worked for Koch Industries, Inc. for thirty years. Koch owns a diverse group of companies worldwide. I began there during my summer breaks during college, and was later hired full time.

How did you first learn about Jebro and becoming an employee?
Actually, Koch companies also serve consumers' needs for fuels so I was familiar with Jebro, and was recruited by Irving Jensen, III.

What are some future projects within the company you are looking forward to?
Currently, I am looking forward to Jebro expanding into more terminals throughout the United States , and expanding further than the mid-west.

What is the best part of your job?
I enjoy working with small family owned contractors, our customers are incredibly nice and fun to work with, and I always like to visit with our customers face to face.

What do you feel are Jebro's biggest strengths as a company?
Obviously we are very customer orientated and the relationships we have built with our clientele are extremely importance to our success as a company. We can also make decisions rather quickly because all our departments are so close in quarters.

Tell me about your family
I have been married for forty years now to my wife, Pat. We have four grown children together, three daughters and one son. We are also grandparents of four kids, including twin boys!

What would you like to do when you retire?
My wife and I have laughed about perhaps investing in an RV and traveling, around the US visiting our children and grand kids, we'll see.

What are your hobbies?
My wife and I own a sports car which we enjoy going on day trips with. I like to golf, and lately I have been keeping myself busy with small house projects including remodeling my basement.

Where did you grow up as a child?
I grew up in the little town of Wausa , WI. It's known as the Swedish capital of Wisconsin, with a population of about 600 or more folks. That's actually where I met my wife too.

Favorite childhood memory?
My father was a carpenter, and I would help him a lot as a kid. I actually would have gone into carpentry if it wasn't for being left handed. Today, I could be, but they didn't have the tools back then.
